Travel description:

It starts in the small town of “Buckie” on the North Sea, along the sea all the way to “Spey Bay”, where the river that gives this route its name, the “River Spey”, flows into the sea. A large part of the route leads over railway lines, forest roads and side roads that were abandoned in the 1960s and almost always within sight of the "River Spey". And again and again we come across the high art of distilling of the Scottish water of life, the universally popular single malt Scotch whiskey. A visit to one or more distilleries is almost mandatory. The hiking tour ends in "Aviemore", the secret capital in the "Cairngorm National Park" where the end of the tour can be celebrated with live Scottish music.
