Travel description:

The West Highland Way is Scotland's first official long-distance footpath, which was inaugurated in October 1980. Despite its popularity, it is and remains a true paradise for nature lovers. The starting point is "Milngavie" a small town on the northern outskirts of Glasgow. A total of 4,500 vertical meters have to be mastered on this route. It doesn't take long to reach Loch Lomond. A little later it will be what you imagine the Highlands to be: more rugged, mountainous, but also more lonely in Rannoch Moor. The final features the highest mountain in Great Britain - Ben Nevis. The trail ends in Fort Williams.
