Impressions of the hiking trip Scotland Speyside Way - Whisky Trail
Travel description:
The route starts in the small port town of Buckie on the North Sea, along the sea to Spey Bay, where the river that gives this route its name, the River Spey, flows into the sea. A large part of the route runs along railway lines that were abandoned in the 1960s, forest paths and back roads, and is almost always within sight of the River Spey. And again and again we come across the high art of distilling the Scottish water of life, the ever-popular single malt Scotch whisky. A visit to one or more distilleries is almost obligatory. The hiking trip ends in Aviemore, the secret capital of the Cairngorm National Park, where the end of the tour can be celebrated with live Scottish music.
